PetMAC is a proud sponsor of this local event that will benefit both people and animals in the Arlington community.

The Arlington County Chapter of the American Red Cross and Upton Hill Regional Park invite you to participate in the 2008 Upton Hill Miniature Golf Fall Classic. The Harris Cup is a series of local qualifying tournaments held at miniature golf courses built by Harris. The winner of the individual tournement has the option to travel to the Harris Cup National Miniature Golf Tournament, which is televised on the Golf Channel, and a chance at a share of the $10,000 purse!

Dog Manners 101

A great class for your dog over four months old. The class covers necessary dog manners such as focus, sit, down, stay, come, and leave it. The class will also address leash manners, jumping, house training and any of your unique issues.

Prerequisites: Rabies, DHLPP and Bordatella vaccines required.

Class meets for approximately one hour for six weeks. Space is limited so sign up soon!

Course fee is $155 with a portion donated to Homeward Trails Animal Rescue.

Dog Manners 201

Now your dog has the basics, we bring in the functional training. This course is ideal for challenging your dog’s knowledge of the foundation skills. The class will focus on adding duration, distance and distraction to all the basics. Fields trips will be incorporated into class. This class meets for approximately one hour for six weeks.

Prerequisites: Attendance at Puppy Manners and Dog Manners 101
or previous basic obedience training.
Rabies, DHLPP and Bordatella vaccines required.

Join mental health therapist Laura Brand-Ballard, LCSW, to talk about pet bereavement, some of the things you can expect from the grief and bereavement process, and some ways to help you get through it. There will also be opportunities, if you wish, to share your story with others who understand. (Also appropriate for caregivers concerned about the impact of pet bereavement on those for whom they care.)
